Radio Voices Session 32 12.6.7

Hola Listeners,

This show was kind of a weird one. There was a massive rain storm that destroyed the transformer that powered the transmitter right before the show. So I thought I wasn't on the air and I sat there talking with my guest, Jennifer Federico of Food Not Bombs while I played for her the music I had prepared for the night and some odd stuff we found in the Pirate Cat Radio station. I got a call that the power was back on at the transmitter about an hour or so into my show and then started the show. However, the podcast has the entire two hour segment so some songs were played twice because I didn't know they were being recorded. So the first hour of the show is pure music, then an interview with Food Not Bombs, then more music. There is some great music on this show, so download and enjoy!

You can find out more information about Food Not Bombs at http://www.foodnotbombs.net/
and Jennifer's chapter at http://www.sffnb.org/ They need all the help they can get, so pitch in and join the fight!

The Me Too music I played on this show was:
Private Idaho by The B52's
Stars & Stripes of Corruption by The Dead Kennedy's
Blue Pepper by Duke Ellington
No Children by The Mountain Goats
Myriad Harbor by The New Pornographers
???-Three random songs from the PCR Vaults
Release the Hostages by NOFX
The Rainbow Connection by Kermit the Frog
Monsters in the Parasol by Queens of the Stone Age
Level by The Raconteures
Cemetry Gates by The Smiths
Big Mouth Strikes Again by The Smiths
Snake Driver by Jesus and The Mary Chain
Go by Tones on Tails
I Wanna Rock by Twisted Sister
Promise by The Violent Femmes
Common People by William Shatner
Seether by Veruca Salt

Radio Voices Session 23 9.27.7

Hola Listeners,

For Session 23 my guests were Josh Wilson or newsdesk.org and rapper bLEEv.

Josh discussed the founding, relevance and importance of www.newsdesk.org and how people could become reporters themselves. In these times of false media, it is more important than ever that the true citizens take the time to empower themselves with knowledge and help share what they see. The "real" news won't do it. They are far to concerned with dragging red herring over red herring. Go check out www.newsdesk.org to see how you can become involved.

My musical guest for the evening was bLEEv. We played a number of tracks from his CD and he rapped live in the studio over an instrumental track. Then we had the audience call in and name topics and he improvised raps based on these topics while I laid out the beats. You can hear more of bLEEv's music at http://www.myspace.com/bleevmusic

The "Me Too" music I played was:

Rules and Regulations by E40
